How Long is Recovery From a Neck Lift?

Are you ready to get rid of that ‘turkey wattle’ and rejuvenate your neck with a neck lift?  If so, you will probably want to know how much time you’ll have to devote to recovery.  So how long is recovery from a neck lift?

Restore A Youthful Profile With A Neck Lift

A neck lift works really well to reduce signs of aging on the jawline and neck and improve the appearance of the lower face.  A neck lift gets rid of loose, sagging skin on the neck and tightens the underlying platysma muscle, restoring a slimmer, more youthful profile.

How Long is Recovery From a Neck Lift?

On average, recovery from a neck lift takes around 2-3 weeks, but recovery time varies depending on the individual and the extent of surgery.

Swelling,  bruising, and pain should be expected after a neck lift.  Patients may also feel tightness, numbness, and tingling that lasts for a few days.  Most of the swelling and bruising resolves within 7 days.   Patients are required to wear a compressive chin strap for about 3-4 days to support the new neck contours.

Most patients can return to work and normal activities about 10-14 days after neck lift surgery.

The neck lift recovery journey will be different for each patient, but following the post-op guidelines of your surgeon will assist the recovery process, and ensure the best possible results.

When Will I See Results?

Patients will notice visible improvements in the appearance of their neck immediately after neck lift surgery.  The neck will be smoother and more youthful after a neck lift, and the jawline will be more defined.
